Change of Plans

Fortunately, we did not book anything other than three nights accomodation in Bangkok, Thailand! Thank you Mike for convincing me that this was a good idea! 48-hours before our departure, the Canadian Government issued a travel advisory to avoid non-essential travel to Thailand, due to the on-going political demonstrations in Bangkok. So, we have changed our plans. I guess after all, we won't be drinking out of buckets on Khaosan Road in Bangkok, this will just have to do...

To our dismay, we will not be able to visit Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Ko Chang or Ko Samet, but better safe than sorry! We will now be spending one night in an airport hotel in Bangkok and then we will fly out the next morning directly to Ko Samui. From there we plan to head to Ko PhaNgan, Ko Tao, Krabi, Phuket and then off to Malaysia.

Well, goodbye Canada, we'll see you back on your birthday, July 1st. Thanks to all our family and friends who have been so supportive while we've been planning our adventure. We look forward to sharing our stories with you all when we return.

Cheers,
Kim and Mike

  1. Hello you world travelers! Thanks for setting this blog up so the rest of us can enjoy your trip vicariously. Sorry to hear your plans had to change last minute, but glad to hear that you're handling it so gracefully - not that surprises me, in the least. Looking forward to the next update, Denise.
